JT and the oldies August 5, 2010 debbielou Nice to hear JT's interpretation of the music of other artists. I've mostly heard him doing his own songs. Not one of my favorite James Taylor collections, but a good one!
Great cd July 30, 2010 closet fan GREAT CD, but buy it elsewhere---
i am now an Amazon Hater- so get it elsewhere- my opinion
J T disappointment January 1, 2010 Kathleen A. Gadbury (Cheyenne, wyo USA) This CD is probably my least favorite of James Taylor. And I LOVE James Taylor.
A few good songs are on it, but it is not one I reach for to listen to over and over again.
Familiar Covers December 8, 2009 Honesty (Westover, WV USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been listening to and watching JT since I was an undergrad at NC State in the mid-seventies. While I've never seen him live on stage, I have watched all of his concert videos. Many of these covers are songs he has sung on stage, so they will be familiar to his "true" fans. If you love JT, you'll be happy with this album...'cuse me, CD.
JT is Lame! June 6, 2009 Roberta King (Vermont) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This album is a bad idea and even worse product. JT should have stuck with a studio album with all of his good folk songs. That's really what we all want to hear. His new songs are boring and predictable. He's changed his voice too. He now sounds too sweet and soft spoken. Go back to the old folk singer voice JT. The band is way too big. He doesn't really need piano, strings, horns, female singers, etc. Ditch the band and go solo in concert and record it for the 2009 tour. Just stick to the basics that made you great JT.
